I guess I should introduce myself, and tell you a bit about what I hope this blog will turn in to. I'm Liz, and though this Blog is titled "Liz and Pete's Zoo", in all likelihood, I'll be doing all of the actual writing. That's fine. So, a bit about us....we're both 26 years old, and we live together in North Andover Massachusetts, about 1/2 hr North of Boston. We have been together since November of 2004, and got engaged 2 years ago :) No, we have not set a date yet. We fail at planning things.
We have a lot of animals. Seriously. We have 3 dogs, 4 cats, and 6 ferrets. No, we are not animal hoarders. Really. I help run a dog rescue, and at any given time there are 2 or 3 (or 4...) foster dogs here, waiting to be adopted. Pete is a good sport and lets me bring "one more dog" here pretty much whenever I want. He's a great dog trainer, and handles a lot of the behavioral issues that crop up when dogs arrive. More about the rescue in another post, I'm sure.
I am a full time nanny for a 3 month old baby girl - I love my job! I have been nannying for a few years now, but just started this particular job a few days ago. It's 3 miles from home - can't beat that commute.
Pete is a full time student studying Electrical Engineering. He's a computer dork, and can fix pretty much anything that is broken. Pete will be done with school in about 2 more years.
I'm a Red Sox junkie, and have slowly turned Pete into a fan as well. He's not a maniac about it as I am, but someday....! As I speak, the red Sox just clinched their post season playoff berth for 2008. Awesome! Even more awesome is that in doing so, we eliminated the New York Yankees from the postseason. Hah. Oh, I love football too, but live and breathe the Sox.
I guess I'll stop rambling now...
